Hello fellow quarantines. For today's activity you will do some deeper research on important figures of India both past and present. This activity will require you to look back at your notes, the slides, lessons along with asking you to do your own research. Attached is the activity "Important figures of India". These figures should be mostly familiar and include; ancient emperors, revolutionaries, and prime ministers. Your job is to look up who they are and list 3 reasons why they were important. The textbook reading for the ancient civilizations are posted below. For the more current figures you will need to do your own research. If you complete this activity and email it to me or send me me a picture of it complete, it will act as your test corrections. I will give you half credit back for completing this assignment. Wednesday will be a deeper look into Gandhi and India's independence movement. I'm hoping by next week we will be able to start learning about new content and dive into Africa.

After reading your Sepoy rebellion thesis' and checking your responses on the India unit test, I think we could benefit from some thesis statement practice. Below I have attached a power-point review on the way to write a killer thesis statement. Then you can work on a thesis practice activity. There you will identify the three pieces of a solid thesis statement: the What? Why? and How? You will then write out your own thesis on different topics including a couple historical ones we have covered recently.
After you have completed the reading and activities you may email me with a request to correct your Sepoy Rebellion thesis statement. If you make the necessary improvements I will change your grade accordingly. Let me know if you have any questions comments or concerns. If you have questions about "test corrections" for the India Unit test, those will be answered on Monday. Stay safe, be productive and wash your hands! Cheers, Mr. Ulland Even with the long sought after independence from Great Britain, India continued to face challenges. The sub-continent was divided into India for the Hindus and the Muslims now had East and West Pakistan; however, the transfer into independent nations left violence and death in its wake.
For the final question and your claim I need to see -
